1. A chance to apply to be a international tutor!
Yet again opens a possibility to become a international tutor. Now is your chance to be part or international atmosphere and tasks AND earn 3 credit points while at it. If you wish, you can choose to be a exchange tutor or become a “class tutor” for a new degree group. Sign up link and more info on web pages.
2. Spring Day blowout
Is school stressing you out? That is why we decided to organize a proper blowout! Come and meet with school friends, to meet new ones and enjoy the program! 24.3.2010 Helsinki, the bar will be announced later. The event is also in Facebook. Tickets 3€, including overall badge (first 150)
3. Get free overalls by getting a sponsor for them
LAUREAMKO is looking for new sponsors for overalls and needs your help. A logo of the sponsoring company will be printed on the overalls. If your acquaintance, friend, relative or even a family member wants companys logo in a prominent position, or if you know of companies wishing to place an ad, one would now be available. As a reward for getting the sponsor you will get LAUREAMKO’s overalls and overall badges for free. 4. Amazing Leppävaara Race
The traditional Laurea version of the TV show Amazing Race but with a wilder and better race! 5.5.2010, at Leppävaara – More information later on.
5. Yes to free education!
The National Union of University Students in Finland and the Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences and their member organizations gather for a mass demonstration ”Yes to free education” in Helsinki on the 21st of April, 2010. We want to raise up the benefits of a free education in a cheerful manner. More information to come in the coming weeks.
6. Hang-out evening 9.4.2010
Students’ non-alcoholic evening for hanging out together with board games, fabric painting, coffee and tea. Come along alone or together! Place: Laurea Otaniemi, Metsänpojankuja 3, Espoo. Time: Friday 9.4.2010 at 18-21.
7. Welfare day at Laurea Tikkurila
Students of social services are organizing a welfare day at Laurea Tikkurila for students and staff on Tuesday 23.3.2010 from 10 am till 2 pm. Amongst other things there will be product exhibitions, a beauty contest for Laurea staff and a surprise performer! Come and enjoy a good atmosphere and get new experiences!

9. Cocktail party with a dress code 14.4.
Are you tired of all the overall nonsense? Does your party outfit need ventilation? Well, LAUREAMKO has an answer to the problem. Little Black cocktail party at Fabrik 14.4. Doors will open at 22, and tickets for members 2€ and others 4€. Wear something black or otherwise stylish and hit the scene! The program includes speed dating LAUREAMKO style.
10. Gather your team: LAUREAMKO’s floorball tournament!
LAUREAMKO organizes floor ball tournament indoors at Rajatorppa, Vantaa on Thursday 22.4.2010 between 8 am and 4 pm. There are two series: pro- and less-pro. Team fee is 25 euros/team. 11. Knock Out Fridays - Let the Music Knock You Out! 26.3. and 9.4.2010
New RnB, Hip Hop, Reggaeton and Danceclub arrives to night club Fennia in Leppävaara! The Opening night is on Fri 26.3!
Wanna go to a good party, but dont want to travel all the way to the city? Now it’s possible, as Knock Out Fridays will bring the city feeling right in the middle of Espoo! The club is housted by Dj Rahim (Players Crib), along side the hottest guest Djs of Helsinki’s club scene. Hot Djs, awsome music, partyphotographer J3R and sexy Showdancers will make the party blazin hot and make you want to come back all over and over again!
The age limit is 20 years, time from 22.00 untill 04.00, tickets 5 euros for Laurea’s students ONLY, so remember to grab your student ID and show it while purchasing the ticket (normal price is 7 eur). 12. INLAND CRUISE on dry land 7.4.
Sokos Hotel Vantaa changes into a cruise ship in early April when LAUREAMKO arranges inland cruise! During the evening the entertainment will be provided by a great cover-band called Some local band! There are also other entertainment available, eg, bingo! Cabin prices are 47 € and includes accommodation, entrance to all bars, breakfast and sauna! You can also come and just spend the evening. Tickets for the evening only: members 5€, others 8€. More info at our website.
13. Find your own story
Group is meant for 20 to 29 year olds who experience melancholy, fatigue, loneliness, anxiety, or nervousness and want to come to the confidential group to reflect on the life situation with others of the same age. The participants discuss in peer groups current issues, such as mood, shyness, loneliness, social nervousness, study / work pressures and means to support wellbeing. Participants hopes are taken into account in the content of the group. The group is free of charge to participants.
Group starts: 15.3.2010 and meets on Mondays from 18.00 to 20.00, 10 + 1 times.
Meeting place: At Tapuli seurakuntakoti near Puistola’s train station.
