1. Application period for international tutoring begins!
It’s that time of the year again!! You ask what time? Well time to apply for being an international tutor of course! We are looking for new (”old”ones are welcome as well) recruits to look after the incoming exchange and degree students. If you jump in for the ride you have the possibility to learn more languages (or improve the already existing ones),
gain new friends and have loads of fun! As a cherry on top you get three credits providing you’ve done your job well enough! So don’t be a shy puppy and apply for being an international tutor!! Application period starts next week and lasts until the beginning of November!

The student union LAUREAMKO warmly welcomes all students interested in international activities, languages, cultural exchange etc. to meet and greet other like-minded people! Would you like to make new international friends, develop a new skill or learn a new language? Are you interested in planning and organizing international events and activities for students? Or maybe you already have a great idea, but not quite sure how to make it happen?
Come and join us in Leppävaara on THU 13.10.2011 between 15.00-17.00, room 253, to discuss and exchange ideas in a friendly atmosphere!
3. Scuba Diving and Spinning!
LAUREAMKOs sport experiments are here again! Come to paddle still and try on Spinning on Tuesday 25.10 at 4.30 pm to Tikkurila EasyFit.
You get to know the bottom of the pool on Scuba Diving-experiment on Wednesday 23.11 and Sunday 27.11.
There is still places left to rock climbing-experiment 6.10 and the indoor climbing is getting closer 7.11, so come and join us our way to heights.

4. LAUREAMKO Sport services during october-december 2011
The finance of Sportti työllistää - project ends 11.10.2011. This means that our sport secretary Lia Strandberg employment ends. During 12.10.-31.12.2011 all sport experiments are under the responsobility of Joni Prokkola, ohjaus@laureamko.fi and sport tournaments are under Janne Sivunen, tapahtumat@laureamko.fi.
We thank Lia for the good job done moving Laurea students and staff!

5. Tired of all the regular, boring parties and disco pumping?
Pissed off at the playlists the radio puts on every single day?? Have no fear! We have just the right party for you! LAUREAMKO Rocks; a party where you hear only rock music so throw up your hands and and let’s go!
Programme includes at least music trivia and an air guitar competition with the addition of rewarding the best ”rock look”!
The fastest ones will get a humongously cool badge! Hevi is great even at its crappiest!

6. 15th Annual Ball!
The student union of Laurea University of Applied Sciences LAUREAMKO presents this 15th Annual Ball with great pleasure and joy and invites You all to join us celebrating it.
The Annual Ball will be held in Laurea, Tikkurila, Ratatie 22, Vantaa
Dinnercard 35 €/45 € (members/non-members)
In the dinnercard is included the programme of the ball and the dinner with drinks.

7. The Pink Ribbon -campaign
Are you aware that 10-15 Finnish men every year and every eighth woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer Society of Finland is organizing Pink Ribbon –campaign in October which is held to raise funds for Finnish breast cancer research.
Student Union LAUREAMKO is supporting the campaign and also gives You a chance to help. You can take part to a fundraising event. Event takes place in Narinkkatori, Helsinki on 14th of October at 7-9 or 15-18. You can sign up here:
When signing up remember to write LAUREAMKO after Your name so we can give You further information closer to the event.
If you don’t feel Yourself as a fundraising type You can also support the campaign by participating to the after party in Kaivohuone 14th of October at 22-04. Tickets are available for 5 €/7 €/9 € (member/non-member/from the door). All the profits are donated to Cancer Society of Finland.
Come and join us to help because we just love Finnish women, don’t we?
8. Come and see the Eight wonder in the world: The Board in overalls!
The board is coming to present itself in Otaniemi and in Kerava wearing overalls! Come by and enjoy a cup of coffee or ask a question or two about anything what comes to your mind! The dates are as follows: Otaniemi 26.9. starting from 14.00 pm and in Kerava 3.10. starting also at 14.00 pm!
