1. Freshmen’s event
Event for Laurea’s new students @ Kaisaniemi starting at 3pm. It’s the mindblowing adventure day in Helsinki where all new students compeat for the lordship of the freshmen. The point is to raise the spirits, have fun together and get to know new people. After the Freshmens event, the whole Laurea, freshmen, tutors, all classes, seven units, you and me, are welcome to the afterparty at Huuma! Tickets in advance from our offices and units and from Kaisaniemi before the event 5 e and from door 8e.
2. Soccer –tournament
Welcome to play! Soccer tournament 30.9. at Leppävaara sports park. More info www.laureamko.fi: gather your team and sign up! There are series for Pro and Less-Pro, so no excuses :o)
3. We are totally out
Afternoon of outside games, just like last year. Come along and join the activities on Monday 20.9 at 5pm. Meeting place is at Laurea Tikkurila parking lot. From there we head to a nearby park.
4. Recycling spot at LAUREAMKO Leppävaara
Good stuff for free, for example glass, cups, pots, blankets, pillows, bedsheets, towels. Open when Leppävaara office is open. Welcome!

6. Upcoming in LAUREAMKO Otaniemi
Autumns first meeting on wed 15.9. at 3pm. Meeting will be held at the bar. All who are interested in local units activity are welcome! Pimp My Overalls on the 22nd on September 12-16 at the bar. Come and pimp your overalls for the freshmen’s event or just to get in to the events mood and meet the local actors. The local unit offers free coffee at the bar on the first Monday of every month

Tikkurilas movie theater Bio Grand, only a short walk away from the railway station, offers quite a deal: By showing your student card you get all the movies (3D included) for only 7,5€. Now if ever one should use their student card.

Cultural Evenings in Laurea for all Laurea students and staff members on the last Thursday of each month at 16.00-20.00. 30.9 Leppävaara, 28.10 Tikkurila, 25.11 Hyvinkää, 16.12 Otaniemi, (Kerava, Lohja and Porvoo in the spring semester) Check out the more info of the Cultural Evenings at LAUREAMKO web site and join the get-together at your own unit or even tour through all of them!

13. “Worklife rules” for international students
Union of Salaried Employees (Toimihenkilöunionni) is organizing seminar about Worklife rules in Finland for international students on 5.10.2010 at 15.30 at Ruoholahti. Seminar includes basics of worklife rules and practices. Seminar is held in English and its target group is international students. Place is at the main office of Union of Salaried Employees, Selkämerenkuja 1 Ruoholahti, Helsinki. To sign up for the seminar, go to www.laureamko.fi. Sign up is binding.
