YES YOU DID IT!! YOU GOT ACCEPTED INTO LAUREA!!
This most sufferable expectancy has finally ended for many people and the greatest of them all got accepted into Laurea University of Applied Sciences. Equivalently as big of a wait it has been for us at the student union LAUREAMKO to see what kind of people will we have in our stables at the end of the summer!
During the beginning of the summer we`ve been thinking of a way to welcome the new freshmen while not forgetting the already existing elite. Over the years we have establised some permanent traditions, one of the best of course being the Back to School-party. This year the starting festivities happen on the 1st of september in the centre of Helsinki in a club called Tivoli and with the full force of Laurea. Of course this is not all! The 14th of September it`s time to welcome the new students with a bang and boom! Time for the Freshers`s event and the afterparty in Onnela Helsinki. The programme is organised by our ever-lovable tutors.
In the beginning of the year we have to take care of our well-being as well in the course of all the partying. Possible summer kilos are easy to shake off with LAUREAMKO`s exercise courses that begin mainly on the weeks of 38 and 39. You can expect something like dancing, badminton, spnning and all kinds of other funny and effective sports! Prices are of course student-friendly. You can check our web pages for updates on those. In addition to that we have free gyms in Otaniemi, Tikkurila and Hyvinkää.
How to get everything cheaper? By making yourself a member of LAUREAMKO and acquiring the SAMOK-student card of course! Sign-up can easily be done in the internet site www.lyyra.fi or filling out a paper form and bringing it to one of our offices. Those who already hold the student card can update it from 1.8 onwards. The old sticker is valid until 30.9. Please not that HSL wants the student status update already by the end of august.
There`s still lots of summer vacation (or –work) ahead, but while doing that we also supervise the benefits of all of our students! But nonetheless let`s all enjoy the lovely sunshine and chill summerstorms and think about school later on when it`s the time!
