LENNI IS SMOKIN' HOT, YOU THINK YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES???

What up what up! I’m what they call the hottest penguin around in LAUREAMKO! The name’s Lenni and I need some new peeps around ‘cause I’m fed up with the old, bored Board faces. First of all, I could tell a little sumthin’ sumthin’ about me; like who I am, what I’m about and last but not least, list some qualities that I’m looking for. Just so that I know you hot enough to hang around, feel me?

So what I’m about, what I do and what the people below me do:

We belong to this group called LAUREAMKO, which is the student union of Laurea University of Applied Sciences. I’m like the ultimate boss and then I got this board doing all the stuff that I don’t have time for. My purpose is to look good and cheer up people. The Board is a bit different thing so here’s what they do:

• - takes care of the lobbying for students
• - produces services such as sport tournaments and events
• - acquires and demands benefits for students
• - coordinates tutors and tutor activities
• - keeps the LAUREAMKO offices open
• - works hard to provide a better tomorrow for the students
• - implements the action plan of LAUREAMKO in practice

What positions do I have in my Board? Well there’s the president, a vice president, the tutor representative, an international representative, an educational politics rep., a social politics rep. and the events rep. They all are as important and necessary to make this student union work actively. It takes a lot of time to do this job when they take it seriously but everything that they do make it worthwhile. They get a BIG mention of this into their CV, get a lot of experience of various things and of course study credits. Some little birds have sang that they have learned a whole lot of things that they wouldn’t in school for example meeting policies, coordinating events and I’ve heard that the people in the working life appreciate it a lot. Not to mention they’ve had some crazy fun together ‘cause I’ve noticed myself that sometimes I’m ‘bout to choke in my own laughter. Through them I’ve gotten like a million new friends and great contacts.

But hey! The most important thing to me is what you are! Here’s some of my criteria! And some say I’m not too flexible with these. So you gotta be:

• - a student of Laurea
• - have real good sense of humour
• - ready to work for other students
• - crazy, in a good way
• - interested in the student union activity
• - a girl or a boy(or a penguin)

So like a dating ad, I’m looking for people willing to commit themselves for a serious relationship for the year 2012.  And don’t even think about going somewhere for a long time within that year. I wouldn’t be too happy about that. Since I know I’m so hot, I’m having this casting-event on Thursday the 24^th of November starting at 5pm in Otaniemi. Just ‘cause I’m smooth like that. It would be real nice if you could write a bit about yourself before-hand and send it to my number one minion, the president of the Board Satu Sileekangas to the address puheenjohtaja@laureamko.fi before the 24^th of November 4pm. If you’re too busy or just don’t wanna do it, it’s cool. Come to Otaniemi anyway to present yourselves in the casting-event! I’ll be there waiting for you like crazy! Like those happy dancing penguins!

Ps.  I do hope that the people who wanna be in my Board next year, would book these dates free; 28.11 (evening), 2-4.12 (Friday from morning onwards, I wanna take you to a cottage), 8.12 (afternoon), 13.12 (evening) and 15.12 (from 12 onwards). Also on Monday the 14^th of November you have a chance to ask the current Board any questions you’d like and what they do! This will be held in our LAUREAMKO office in Tikkurila and my minions will be there hanging around between 2pm till 8 pm.
